This coming weekend has come around all so quickly and the National Wedding Show at Olympia is almost upon us. We have attended a number of the National Wedding Shows held at the NEC over the last few years but this time we wanted to spread our wings a bit and go to it’s sister wedding show in London instead so it is all rather new and exciting for us.

As usual we can’t wait to find out all about the weddings everyone has planned and this weekend I will be joined by my good friend Beki who is just as excited as me. We like nothing better than to talk about weddings so why not take some time to pop by our stand at G52, rest your feet for a while and have a good natter?! We will have our gorgeous Queensberry wedding albums for you to have a look at too.

It promises to be a busy yet great weekend and we can’t wait! If you want to come along the show will be open Friday 19th February (12-7pm), Saturday 20th February (10am-6pm) and Sunday 21st February (10am-5pm).

See you there!

Local Wedding Fairs

February 16, 2010

Where has the year gone already? We are already well into the busy spring wedding fair season and it has been great to meet everyone at the Wicksteed Park wedding show in January and the Northants County Cricket Ground wedding show last Sunday. What better day to celebrate getting married than Valentine’s Day?!

The next show we’re looking forward to is at the Stadium MK / Hilton Doubletree on Sunday 28th February and you can register for free entry here: http://www.silverlinings.co.uk/stadium-mk/index.htm. We always enjoy this show because it is a particularly busy one but it’s always nice to meet new faces and talk to brides and grooms about their wedding plans.

The season ends on a high at the Quinton House Marquee Wedding Show on Sunday 11th April organised by Silverlinings and Chelsea Hire. This is a relatively new wedding venue in Northampton but I am sure it will soon become popular for civil ceremonies and marquee receptions. Suitably refreshed after our holiday we will be raring to go and excited to talk with you all at our first time at this show. Register for you free entry here: http://www.silverlinings.co.uk/northamptonmarquee/index.htm.

We look forward to saying hello to you!

I was really pleased when one of my recent brides told me that the local wedding magazine, R Weddings, was interested in using her wedding in their Autumn edition as one of their ‘real’ wedding articles and it has now been published for all to see!

Kelly and Sean Weston got married back in July with a ceremony at the church where Kelly grew up in Harlestone followed by a reception at Sedgebrook Hall. Kelly is a farmer’s girl so on the way to Sedgebrook Hall we stopped at her dad’s farm to have a bit of an alternative photo shoot and created some really fun photos that Kelly insisted were included in the article. And I don’t blame her as it’s not every day you have a photo taken of you in a wedding dress with a couple of tractors!

Anyway, the article is in the current issue and you can pick up a copy from shops, hotels, restaurants, etc around the county.

Oh, I should also mention that Kelly is a fellow successful local business woman and has her own hair salon, Identity, on the Main Road in Duston. If you go in to see her make sure you say hi from me!

I will be blogging Kelly and Sean’s wedding in the near future so check back to see more of their wedding photos!

We have had a busy month with weddings, a few days in Barcelona to celebrate our own wedding anniversary, pre-wedding shoots and some wedding fairs, namely at the Marriott Hotel in Northampton and Towcester Racecourse.

Both were great days and very busy. There are obviously lots of people getting married in the next year or so! It was fantastic to meet some of you and find out all about your wedding days, as I always love to hear all about them, so thank you for taking the time to come by our stand.

We will be taking part in a few more wedding fairs this season: 18th October at the Northants Cricket Ground and 25th October at the Stadium MK. We hope to see you there!

I’m going back a bit here but in my quest to do a little catching up I’m sure I will be forgiven!

Laura and Steve got married a couple of months ago but before this we spent some time one afternoon at Stowe Landscape Gardens, the grounds surrounding Stowe House, taking some photos so they could get used to having their photo taken before the big day. Both Stowe House and Stowe Gardens are beautiful places and lovely venues for a wedding if you are looking for somewhere to hold yours. The gardens were also a fantastic location for our photos especially with the sun just starting to go down and giving us some lovely warm light.

You will notice that it wasn’t just the two of them on the photo shoot. With two young children (Penny and Max) in the family we thought it would be a good idea to include them on the shoot too and make it into a bit of a family session as well so they wouldn’t play up to me on the wedding day. Little did we know how much Max enjoyed having his photo taken as it almost turned in to the ‘Max Show’! It was just a shame that Penny was feeling a bit poorly and wasn’t her usually smiley self.

Anyway, without further a do here are some of the photos from their photo session…..

Last weekend was a rather busy one for me what with a networking lunch with some photography friends, a wonderful wedding in Hereford at Moccas Court (more on that later) and then taking part in a wedding fair at a brand new wedding venue, Stanford Hall in Stanford on Soar near Loughborough.

This was their grand opening and although they aren’t quite there yet and still have a bit to do to be completely ready, from what has been done so far Stanford Hall is going to be one stunning venue. For a start even the wallpaper is gorgeous! (it’s a girl thing!) I have no doubt that there will be lots of wonderful and memorable weddings taking place there in the future.

We had a great day at the fair and were kept busy meeting lots of lovely couples so I would like to say a big thank you to anyone who took the time to stop by our stand, you made our day! The whole day was a huge success and we look forward to being able to talk more with you all and perhaps be a part of your wedding day.

Oh dear!

May 13, 2009

I haven’t done very well with this blogging lark have I??!! Nearly a year to the day that I first set it up and I haven’t actually posted another single thing. Oh dear! So I am determined to make amends and there is obviously lots to catch up on and this will follow on in due course as I am sure you are all wondering what I’ve been up in all this time – or not! 😉

So without further ado……

My first post!

May 19, 2008

…and hopefully not my last!

It’s taken a little while but finally I have got around to sorting a blog out now that the world and his dog seems to have one.

So with some creativity and a bit of luck thrown in for good measure I hope my posts aren’t too infrequent nor do they bore the pants off all of you who use some of your precious time to have a snoop around here.

I look forward to sharing more of my ramblings with you in the future!
